9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Loose Park Garden Center
Kansas City, Missouri 64112
(located within Loose Park at 51st and Wornall)
Garden Faire takes on some added boutique charm this year , with Gardeners Connect and some of its affiliate organizations offering plants and other items for sale. There will be plenty of gardening and horticultural information available too.
The hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, in the Garden Center at Loose Park, 5200 Pennsylvania Ave. This is the same time you can pick up your pre-ordered Lilypalooza bulbs. Go to the library/conference room at the Garden Center, to the left as you enter from the front of the building, to get your pre-paid orders.
Of course, Gardeners Connect will have lily, tulip, daffodil and allium bulbs for sale as part of its Lilypalooza. There will also be a few books on bulbs, our Irma Starr garden-scene artwork and raspberry-pink and lime green T-shirts.
Gardeners Connect will continue to offer Kincaid plant markers. These are study, durable stainless steel plant markers that won’t rust. The wires are 10-gauge. They are manufactured by Gary Kincaid of Savannah, Mo., a sponsor of the Kansas City Garden Symposium. You can mark on them with paint pens, which we carry in black, dark green and new this year, blue. You can also get a label printer (the Brother P-Touch printer does great and is affordable and you can find it on Smile.Amazon.com and benefit Gardeners Connect in a small way).
We will have bundles of 25 15-inch markers for $30. You may also by them singly at $1.75 per label. This is a huge discount over traditional retail prices.
What Gardeners Connect will have at Garden Faire/Lilypalooza just scratches the surface. Many of our affiliate clubs will be present with information about them and offer a selection of wares. This is a perfect opportunity to find out about new clubs and make new friends.
Event will all be inside the Garden Center, upstairs and downstairs.
