Insects in Your Garden with Betsy Betros

Part of the Gardeners Connect Members Speaker Series

Saturday, June 19, 2021
10:00 a.m.

This Event has been Cancelled.

We regret to say that the June 19 program, Insects in Your Garden by Betsy Betros has been cancelled.

Betsy is busy recovering from surgery and has a full schedule getting better. We wish Betsy a speedier recovery and hope she is back out with the insects in her garden soon enough.

We hope to reschedule it for later this fall or as part of our 2022 series.

Look at your July-August newsletter for upcoming announcements for a fall trip and LilyPalooza both just around the corner.

We at Gardeners Connect hope to be announcing our 2022 line up of speakers and programming soon. In the mean time stay cool and enjoy your gardens.

Free for Gardener’s Connect Members. Check your May-June 2021 Gardeners Connect newsletter for login details or email info@gardenersconnect.org for details.

We are never alone in our gardens. There is always a kinetic energy there in addition to the plants that is provided by the butterflies and other insects there. Area entomologist Betsy Betros plans to share some of her enthusiasm with us about them in a program titled “Insects in the Garden.”

Betsy is the author of “A Photographic Field Guide to the Butterflies in the Kansas City Region.” She graduated from Colorado State University with a bachelor of science degree in entomology in 1976, but she focused on aquatic insects then and during her career. In retirement, Betsy has focused on terrestrial species. Her “Photographic Field Guide” was published in 2008. She is a contributor to BugGuide.net and active with Idalia Butterfly Society.
