Our Paperwhites Planting Party has become a tradition for Gardeners Connect, and we would like you to join us.
Join us at the Paperwhites Planting Party for garden banter and lots and lots of paperwhites. Plant a few and let them brighten the bleak days of winter for you. Plant extras as gifts.
This is a hands-on workshop with materials provided to take home a pot of paperwhites.
The cost for this event is $20, with Gardeners Connect members receiving a $5 discount. This includes a pot, five bulbs and soil mix.
Learn a few tricks from people who for decades have celebrated the holidays by planting paperwhites, like how to keep your paperwhites from being tall and floppy.
Participants may purchase extra pots and bulbs online or at the event. You may also bring your own pots.
Paperwhites and Amaryllis
We will have the tried and true paperwhite, ‘Ziva,’ which is fragrant and time-tested.
These are huge paperwhite bulbs. We order the largest sized bulbs available from the Netherlands.
We will have two amaryllis varieties. With amaryllis, top-size bulbs make a huge difference. With our bulbs you get two and sometimes three flowering stems.
Amaryllis ‘Dancing Queen’ – Extra-large, double white with broad red brushstrokes on each petal.
Amaryllis ‘Gervase’ – Rosy pink petals with white and dark red midribs distinguish this attractive Amaryllis.
