Spring flowers will soon be here, and many of us love bringing them inside. Let’s hear some tips on “Cut-flower Gardening” from an a grower near Lawrence who has literally written the book on the subject. Lynn Byczinski is author of “The Flower Farmer: An Organic Grower’s Guide to Raising and Selling Cut Flowers” – a second edition came out in 2008 – and also “Market Farming Success” and “The Hoophouse Handbook: Growing Produce and Flowers in Hoophouses and High Tunnels.”
She was editor and publisher of “Growing for Market” magazine from 1992 to 2016. She was an organic vegetable and flower farmer from 1989 to 2014. Presently, since 2011, she is marketing strategist and chief financial officer of Seeds From Italy, the U.S. distributor for Franchi Seeds, Italy’s oldest family-owned seed company, founded in 1783. Seeds From Italy offers more than 450 varieties of Italian heirloom vegetable, herb, and flower seeds.
